Transciption: | SARAH ELIZABETH KIMBER THE LATE MRS. SARAH KIMBER The funeral took place on Saturday of Mrs. Sarah Kimber. She had been in failing health for the last few months, but only recently did her illness take a more serious turn. She died during the early hours of Wednesday last week. The first part of the service was held at the Parish Church. The Rector, Canon WL. Cooper, officiated and also conducted the interment in the Newtown-road Cemetery. Amongst those attending were Mr. F. Kimber (son), Mr. and Mrs. E. Kimber (son and daughter-in-law), Mr. and Mrs E. L. Liddiard, Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Stoneham (daughters and sons-in-law), Mrs. F. Purton, Mrs. Marshall (nieces), Mrs. Chapman, Mr. Tom Burningham (nephew), Mrs. Seward. Mr. F. Cummings, sen. (nephew), and Mr. J. Cummings, junr. Sarah Elizabeth Kimber
She was born in 1853 in Aldbourne, Wiltshire, daughter of Joseph Dennis, a Willow Cutter, and Mary Ann (nee Braxton). She grew up in Aldbourne with her parents and five siblings: Anne (born 1856), Patience (b. 1858), Mary Jane (b. 1861), Joseph (b. 1866) and Frederick (b. 1870), before marrying William Waller Kimber in 1878 in Newbury. In the 1911 census it is recorded that they had 6 children, five surviving and one child, William Waller, who died in 1881. Further family details are available in William Waller Kimber's record (1855-1938).
She died on 19 January 1938 aged 84 years and she was buried on 22 January 1938. Her husband William Wailer (Walter) Kimber died on 16 May 1938 aged 84 years and was buried on 21 May in the same plot alongside his father William Wailer Kimber who died on 6 January and was buried on 8 January 1898 aged 75 years and his mother Betsy Kimber (nee Whale) who died on 8 July and was buried on 12 July 1900 aged 75 years.
