Midsummer Cemetery

Enjoy the cemetery at the height of summer. Last year we caught 68 different kinds of moths in one night. Wild flowers and magnificent grasses.

6.15pm Introductory Tour - meet in the Chapel. Free

7.30pm Passive Resisters - Meet in the Chapel Free

The Resurrection Players performed a new play in April this year which featured more than 15 people who were eventually buried in this cemetery. This tour will introduce you to the auctioneer who sold the musical instruments in Hungerford, key activists in the Passive Resistance protest against aspects of the 1902 Education Act and many local tradesmen who refused to pay their rates in 1903.

Remembrance Welcome Event

Vist the cemetery to remember those who died during both World Wars, especially in World War One which ended 100 years ago tomorrow. Guided Tours. Find-a-Grave Service

There will be a Poetry Reading event in the Chapel in the evening.
