DAVID BOSLEY
The funeral of the late Mr. David Bosley took place on Wednesday at Newbury Cemetery.
The deceased was a well-known Speenhamlander, having been gardener at the Chestnuts for some forty-five years, and acted as general factotum to the late Miss Baker, by whom he was regarded in great esteem.
Mr. Bosley was especially skilful in floriculture, and took many prizes at Newbury Horticultural Show, while he also added to the attractions of local village shows by honorary exhibits of great merit. His specialities were asters, zinnias, and cactus dahlias, of which he produced remarkably fine blooms. He was none the less successful as a general cultivator, and the gardens at the Chestnuts were always well kept and productive.
Retiring into private life on the death of Miss Baker, he has latterly suffered from bad health, death resulting from heart failure at the age of 57.
