Harriet was born in Wilton to Ag Labourer John & Charity Crosby & Baptised in Great Bedwyn. She met Jesse Taylor whilst both were working, as a carter & a house servant for Farmer Edward Withers of Hill Green, Leckhampstead. They married in 1852& a year later their daughter Eliza was born. Jesse was a labourer and Head carter & they lived at Hill Green, Leckhampstead until Jesse's death. He was buried in Leckhampstead Churchyard. Harriet then moved to Newbury where she was a Servant to a widow at 1, Denbigh Villas, Greenham. She died at her daughter's home, 8 Ham Terrace, King's Rd (now Kings Rd West), Newbury.
