THOMAS GRIZOLD KING

The LATE MR. THOMAS G. KING.—By the death of the deceased, which occurred on Thursday last, at his residence in the Market-place, several offices became vacant. Mr. King was manager of the Corn Exchange, a post he had held from the date of its erection some 20 years ago. He was also rent collector for the Corporation, collector of the district rate, collector for the gas undertaking, and secretary of the Newbury Wool Fair. For many years he was Quarter-Master Sergeant in the Newbury Company of the Berks Rifle Volunteers, a post he resigned when his health began to fail.
