The Late Mr. WADE.

In our obituary will be found recorded the death of Mr. Wade, who has been nearly twenty years the respected agent in this town for Messrs. Pickford & Co.

The deceased was formerly in the Navy, and held a medal for the Abyssinian Campaign, through which be passed under Lord Napier of Magdala.

He was a most painstaking and conscientious man of business, thoroughly upright in his dealings, and his decease at a comparatively early age, has caused a widespread feeling of regret.

FOOTNOTE   The Abyssinian War Medal was awarded for service between 4 October 1867 and 19 April 1868 to those who participated in the 1868 Expedition to Abyssinia. This punitive expedition, led by Lieutenant-General Sir Robert Napier, was carried out by the armed forces of the British Empire against the Ethiopian Empire. Wikipedia
