| Transciption: | EMILY GOODCHILD Funeral of Mrs Emily Goodchild The funeral of Mrs, Emily Goodchild, whose death occurred at the age of 82 years at 232, Beaconsfield Terrace, London-road, Newbury, on October 9th took place on Wednesday in last week at the Old Cemetery, Newtown-road. The curate of St Nicholas' Church, the Rev. S.C. Robinson, officiated. Mrs Goodchild was the widow of the late Mr. John Goodchild, who formerly carried on the business of a mineral water manufacturer in St Mary's Hill, near where the Free Library now stands. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. T. Randall (son-in-law and daughter), Messrs T. J. and J. L. Randall (grandsons), Mrs. T.J. Randall and Mrs. J.L. Randall. Flowers were sent by: Emily and tom,: Hilda and Tommy: Harry, Mabel and little Pam Leslie, Evelyn and little June: Mr and Mrs frank Hill: Mr and Mrs J. Fabry and Jimmy: Mr and Mrs T Heath and family: little John: Mrs Bartholomew and Mrs Maskell: Nurse Wheeler and Mrs Harris: Mr and Mrs Woolf and family: Mr and Mrs J Rouse and family: Mr and Mrs Bolton and family: Mr and Mrs Lovelock and family: employees at London Road, The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr T H Cullum Northcroft. |

Emily Goodchild
John Goodchild and Emily Goodchild
John Goodchild was born on the 17/10/1847 in Winterbourne. He was the son of Philip Goodchild, a thatcher and Mary Goodchild (formerly Brown) .
He married Emily Abrahams in December 1874 and worked as a brewers cellerman .Eventually he became the Newbury Mineral Water Manufacturer.
Their daughter Emily Louise was born on the 17/09/1875, and she subsequently married Thomas Randall.
John died aged 58 years on the 18/03/1907 at 1,Eton Villas, Newbury.
Emily Goodchild, died on 09/10/1932 aged 82 years at 232, London Road the home of the Randalls.
