Recorder's Notes | The Todd sisters were born in St Peter Port, Guernsey to Henry, a painter & glazier, who died soon after the youngest was born, and Amelia, a school teacher. After Henry's death. Amelia took the family to Alderney where she was a teacher. The family later moved to Greenham where Amelia and daughters taught at Greenham Schools. Hannah lived in Pound St and taught in the National School. Later the sisters lived together with other spinster teacher relatives in Craven Road. On retirement the three sisters lived in St George's Avenue, Newbury. Hannah and Jane were living there when they died. Elizabeth moved to Clevedon and died there in 1939. Her Will gives her date of death as 16th Sept, not 17th as recorded by Mrs P & in her MI. Sources: Mrs P's record for MI; census records in Ancestry for ages and confirmation of dates of death. |
