Transciption: | VIOLET MAY HEAD Funeral of Miss V. M. Head The funeral of Miss Violet May Head, only daughter of Mr and Mrs. W. G. Head of 6 St. George’s-avenue, took place on Wednesday afternoon, March 26th. The service was held at St. John’s Church, the Vicar, the Rev. E. H. Stenning, officiating. The hymn, “Thy way, not mine , O Lord,”was sung. Miss Hodgetts, who was at the organ, rendered “O rest in the Lord” as the cortége left the Church. The interment was in the Newtown-road cemetery, where many relatives and friends of deceased had gathered. There then follows a list of family mourners who also left wreaths. Also present were members of staff of Edwards and Godding Ltd, Girls Council School, G. F. S. and Perseverance Guild of St. Johns, the Children of St. Johns, nurses of Newbury District Hospital.
