Transciption: | DEATH OF MR. W.G. HEAD OF NEWBURY He was born at Bramley, near Guildford, and served his apprenticeship with a Mr. Jackson at Bramley. Later he was employed by Messrs. Belgrave and Whiteman at Ryde, and came to Newbury at the time they joined Messrs.Edwards and Godding. He was a lifelong member of the West Surrey Benefit Society. During the War he served for three-and-a-half years with the Royal Army Service Corps, and for the latter part of the time was engaged in the transport workshops on Salisbury Plain. Much sympathy is felt for the widow. Mr. and Mrs. Head's only child, a daughter, died six years ago at the age of 19. The funeral takes place at St John's Church, Newbury, on Saturday at 2pm, the interment being in the Newtown-road Cemetery. |
