John Edmonds
He was born c. 1837 in Newbury, the fourth son of Thomas Edmonds (1793-1862) and his second wife Ann, nee Higgs (1798-1875). In 1861 he is an Assistant Watchmaker living and working in Islington. In the 1861 and 1871 Census he is a Watch and Clockmaker at 3 Market Place, Islington, together with his sister Amelia. In 1890 he married Arabella Annie Cox Pocock, a widow previously married to Charles Thomas Pocock, in South Stoneham, Hampshire, and they moved and lived in Southampton together with his sister Amelia. He died on 20 November 1915 at St. Catherine’s, 31 Shirley Road Southampton aged 78 years. His body was brought to Newbury and interred on 24th November 1915 in the same grave as his sister Amelia. Probate was granted to Alfred Curtis Edmonds, Draper, and to Arthur Richard Hillier, Nurseryman.
