Recorder's Notes | This is just a foot stone but in 1878 burials we have Emily Adey buried 10 June 1878. For burials in 1897 we have William George Adey buried 31 march 1897. There are no burials for C W A in 1915 but William George and Emily Adey had a son Charles William Adey born in 1862. He died in 1924 but his first wife Annie Amelia Adey, Mrs. C W A !!, died in 1915 |

Annie Amelia Adey
c1872-1915
Anne Amelia (aka Annie) was born in Maidenhead Berkshire the daughter of William and Louisa Ann Arman (nee Tuck) who were married on the 1st February 1866 in Wanborough Wiltshire.
Her mother Louisa Ann was born in 1844 in Bristol the daughter of Stephen and Elizabeth Tuck (nee Burge) who were married on the 24th June 1839 in the parish of Temple in Bristol. Louisa Ann died aged 87 in 1931 (death registered in Maidenhead)
Her father William was born in 1841 in Shalbourne, Wiltshire, the son of Thomas and Ann Arman (nee Mundy/Munday) who were married on the 11th February 1830 in Chisledon Wiltshire. William died aged 83 in 1924 (death registered in Maidenhead)
William and Louisa also had the following children (all born in Maidenhead):

In 1881 Anne (9) was recorded living in Queen Street, Bray, Maidenhead with her father William (40), a Shoeing Smith and Wheelwright, her mother Louisa (38) and her siblings Thomas (14), William (12), Emily (2) and Henrietta (1).
The 1891 census records Anne (18) living in Cookham, Berkshire with her father William (49), a Farmer, her mother Louisa (48) and her sister Emily (12).
Anne married (as Annie Amelia) Charles William Adey in 1896 (marriage registered in Maidenhead)
(Charles was born in 1862 in Newbury Berkshire, the son of William George and Emily Adey (nee Seymour) who were married on the 21st September 1858 at St Peter and St Paul, Marlborough.)
Charles and Annie had the following children (all born in Newbury):

Florence Margaret 1899
Hilda Marjorie Ethel 1908
Elizabeth Joan 1911
In 1901 Charles (38), a Building Contractor and Timber Merchant, Annie (29) and their daughters Annie (3) and Florence (1) were recorded living at “Riverside”, Kennet Road, Newbury.
The 1911 census records Charles (48) as a builder, living at The Laburnum, Andover Road, Newbury with Annie (39), their children Annie (13), Florence (11), Hilda (2) and a Minnie Shave (16), a General Domestic Servant.
Annie Amelia died aged 42 in 1915, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 22nd February.
Charles remarried in 1917, his 2nd wife was Muriel May Bradley (marriage registered in Wantage)
In 1921 Charles, Muriel, Hilda Marjorie Ethel and Elizabeth Joan were living in Chaddleworth, Berkshire.
Charles died aged 61 in 1924 (death registered in Wantage)
