Alfred Abraham
1846-1913
Alfred Abraham(s) was born in 1846 he was the son of Isaac and Keziah Abraham (nee Pope) who married on 4th April 1831 at St Mary’s Church Thatcham Berkshire. Isaac was born c1810 in Greenham and was a Blacksmith and Keziah was born c1812 in either Crookham Berkshire or Baughurst Hampshire.

The family lived in Newbury, Mill’s Yard (1841), Axe and Compass Yard (1851), Garland’s Yard St Mary Hill (1861) and Pigeon’s Yard (1871). In both the 1851 and 1861 census Alfred was recorded living with his parents and siblings, in the 1861 census he was recorded as an Apprentice Carpenter. He later became a Carpenter and Joiner.
In 1869 Alfred married Elizabeth Arnold (Arnould) Simpson they had two daughters, Emily Elizabeth born in 1872 and Rose Annie born in 1877.
In 1871 Alfred & Elizabeth were living in Bartholomew Street Newbury but later they moved to 1 Frederick Cottages St John’s Road Newbury.
Alfred died aged 66 on the 28th April 1913 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd May 1913.
Elizabeth died aged 86 on the 12th November 1928 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th November.
