Elizabeth Arnould Abraham
1841-1928
Elizabeth Arnould Simpson was born in 1841 in Basildon Berkshire she was the daughter of Silas and Elizabeth Simpson (nee Arnould) who were married on 23rd September 1838 in Pangbourne Berkshire. Silas was a Carpenter and was born c1807 in Mapledurham Oxfordshire. Elizabeth was born c1804 in Aston Berkshire.
Silas and Elizabeth also had a son, Silas born c1839
In 1841 Silas, Elizabeth and their son Silas were recorded living in Basildon Berkshire.
The 1851 and 1861 census records record the family living in the parish of St Mary Reading (1 Hope Court (1851) and 1 Hope Place (1861). Elizabeth was working as a House Servant in 1861.
Elizabeth’s father died aged 56 in 1861 in Reading, her mother died aged 72 in 1875 in Reading
Elizabeth married Alfred Abraham in Newbury in 1869. Alfred was born in Newbury in 1846 and was a Carpenter and Joiner. The couple had two daughters, Emily Elizabeth born in 1872 and Rose Annie born in 1877.
In 1871 Alfred & Elizabeth were living in Bartholomew Street Newbury but later they moved to 1 Frederick Cottages St John’s Road Newbury.
Alfred died aged 66 on the 28th April 1913 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd May 1913.
Elizabeth died aged 86 on the 12th November 1928 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 16th November 1928.
