Mary Ann Lawson
c1829-1910
Mary Ann was born in Everton, Bedfordshire, the daughter of William and Judith Lawson (nee Cocking) who were married in 1826 in Everton cum Tetworth, Huntingdonshire.
Her mother Judith was baptised (as Judith Cockain) on the 11th January 1807 in Sandy, Bedfordshire, the daughter of James and Isabella Cockain.
Her father William was born c1806 in Everton, Bedfordshire.
William and Judith also had the following children:

Joseph 1841
Thomas 1846
The 1841 census records Mary (12) living in Everton, Bedfordshire, with her parents William (35), a Labourer and Judith (35) and her siblings, William (14), Jane (10), Thomas (8), Emma (4) and Martha (2).
In 1871 Mary (38) was working as a Housemaid for a Mary Armytage (80), at 19 Montagu Square, Marylebone, London
The 1881 census records Mary (51) as a Housekeeper, working for a widow, Frances Pott (68) at Bentham Hill House, Southborough, Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
In 1901 Mary (71) was living on own means at 5 South View, King’s Road, Newbury, Berkshire.
Probate: LAWSON Mary Anne of 5 South View King’s-road Newbury Berkshire spinster died 2nd September 1910 Probate Oxford 10 October to Joseph Lawson retired police constable and Samuel Jefferies gardener. Effects: £400 7s 2d
Mary died aged 81 on the 2nd September 1910, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 6th September.
Her brother Joseph Lawson (buried 1921) and sister-in law Sarah Ann Lawson (buried 1918) were buried with her.
