Transciption: | CATHERINE GOULD THE LATE MISS KATE GOULD The death took place on Saturday of Miss Kate Gould, adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Webb, of Craven-street. She had been suffering for some months from a painful disease. The funeral took place on Tuesday morning, at Newbury Cemetery, the service being by Rev. W.J. Gardner. The coffin which was converyed to the Cemetery in a glass Washington car, was borne to the grave on the shoulders of the superintendent and teachers of the Wesleyan School by their special request The coffin plate was inscribed CATHERINE GOULD Died Aug. 14, 1909 The mourners were Misses M. and P. Gould (sisters), Mrs Butler and Mr. H. Webb (cousins), Mr. O.H. Butler, Mrs. H. Webb (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) Mrs Brice Gould (sister-in-law), Mr J. H. Webb. There were many wreaths including one (at least) from the Wesleyan Sunday School Buried 17 August 1909 aged 44 from Craven Road. Bk. 1899 p. 174 no 8586 Newbury Weekly News 19 August 1909 Mrs P. p 5 83 "Katie" died 14 August 1909 daughter of John Gould (others in grave). |
