THE LATE MR. E. WOOTTEN.-
Yesterday afternoon the remains of Mr. Elijah Wootten, Proprietor of the Pelican Stables, were interred at the Cemetery, with the honours of Forestry, the deceased having been for many years treasurer of the lodge of the Ancient Order of Foresters, 3939.
About 40 of the members followed to the grave their late colleague, who was much respected by them, as well as by all who were brought into contact with him through business engagements.
Note: The Foresters Friendly Society is a British friendly society which was formed in 1834 as the Ancient Order of Foresters. As of 31 December 2016, the society had approximately 75,000 members.
