Transciption: | Early on the morning of Christmas-day, to the inexpressible grief of his parents, Walter James, youngest son of James Porteus and Ellen Jackson, Market-place, Newbury, aged 7 years and 8 months.
CHRISTMAS PEALS.
The ringing of the Church bells, which always imparts such a cheerful aspect to Christmastide, was this year suspended on the Monday and Tuesday following Christmas-day, in consequence of the lamented death in the family of Mr. Churchwarden Jackson, and the decease of Charles Brimblecome, one of the ringers.
