Transciption: | CHRISTINA ROWLES Death of Miss C. Rowles
Miss C. Rowles, well known and for many years residing at Cold Ash, and latterly in Craven Road, Newbury, passed away on Sunday last week after a few days' illness at the age of 78.
The funeral took place on Thursday, a service being held in the Baptist Church, about 50 people being present. The interment was in the Newtown-road Cemetery, where her parents were buried.
The service and burial were conducted by Rev. A.J. Stanton. The mourners were Mrs. Hill (sister), Mr. Robert Rowles (brother), Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Rowles (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. Alan Rowles (nephew), Mr. Archie Marsh, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Marsh, Mrs. Hulands and (?) daughter, Miss Hulands (cousins), Mr. (?) Aldridge and Miss Annie Lewendon (?).
Flowers were sent by Brothers and Sister: the Women's Meeting of the Baptist Church; the President and Officers of the Baptist Women's Meeting; Mabel (?) and Ruby; Isabel; Mr. and Mrs. (?) (Canwick); Betty and Fred; Annie and Rose; Mrs. William Davies and Nieces; (?) Mortimer; All at Highwood.
