Louisa Hazell
1882-1974
Louisa was born on the 26th December 1882 in Wexcombe, Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, the daughter of Richard and Harriet Mason (nee Stout) who were married on the 7th November 1874 at St Nicolas, East Grafton, in the parish of Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire.
Her father Richard was born in 1855 in Wexcombe, the son of John and Eliza Mason (formerly Stagg, nee Pearce) who were married on the 6th December 1851 in East Grafton in the parish of Great Bedwyn.
Her mother Harriet was born in 1853 in Shalbourne, Berkshire, the daughter of Jason and Louisa Stout (nee Waters) who were married in 1850 (marriage registered in Hungerford)
Harriet already had a daughter Ellen Stout, born in 1873 before she married Richard.

In 1891 Louisa (8) was living with her parents and siblings in Shalbourne, Berkshire (Bagshot, Oak Hill). Her father was working as a Carter, Agricultural Labourer.
In 1901 Louisa (19) was working as a Laundress, she was living in Bagnor Paper Mills, Speen, Berkshire, with an Alfred Appleton (63) a Market Gardener and his family. (Louisa’s surname recorded as Maton on ancestry)

(Albert was born on the 14th September 1879 in Newbury Berkshire, the son of Albert and Julia Hannah Hazell (nee Parker) who were married in 1878 (marriage registered in Newbury).
The 1911 census records Louisa (28) and her husband Albert (30), a Grocery and General Store Shop Assistant, living at 18 Waterloo Place, Carnarvon Street, Newbury.
The 1939 Register records Albert as a Master Hardware Shopkeeper living at 11 London Road, Newbury with Louisa (surname recorded as Hayell on ancestry).
Albert died aged 76 on either the 2nd or 3rd November 1956** he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th November.
** Probate records date of death as 2nd November, Memorial Inscription records 3rd November.
Louisa died aged 91 on the 16th August 1974, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with her husband Albert (buried 7th November 1956) on the 21st August.
