Albert Hazell
1879-1956
Albert was born on the 14th September 1879 in Newbury, Berkshire, the son of Albert and Julia Hannah Hazell (nee Parker) who were married in 1878 (marriage registered in Newbury).
His father was Albert Hazel, born on the 12th November 1852 in Newbury, the son of John and Eleanor (aka Ellen) Hazell (nee Curtis) who were married in 1846 in Newbury. Albert died aged 92 on the 3rd February 1945, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery with his wife Julia, on the 7th February.
His mother was Julia Hannah Parker, born in 1854 in Newbury, the illegitimate daughter of Lydia Parker. Julia died aged 74 in 1930, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd March.
Julia already had a daughter Martha Ellen (aka Ellen) Parker who was born on the 3rd February 1877.
Julia and Albert also had the following children:

In 1881 Albert’s father Albert (28) was recorded as a General Labourer, living at 1 Clare Place, Newbury with Julia (23), Martha Parker (4) and Albert (1).
By 1891 the family had moved to 10 Shrewsbury Terrace, Newbury, Albert’s father was recorded as a Labourer in the census for this year.
The 1901 census records Albert (19) as a Hardware Shop Assistant, living with his parents and siblings at 10 Shrewsbury Terrace.

(Louisa was born on the 26th December 1882 in Wexcombe, Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire, the daughter of Richard and Harriet Mason (nee Stout) who were married on the7th November 1874 at St Nicolas, East Grafton, in the parish of Great Bedwyn, Wiltshire)
In 1911 Albert (30) was recorded as a Grocery and General Store Assistant, living at 18 Waterloo Place, Carnarvon Street, Newbury, with Louisa (28).
The 1939 Register records Albert as a Master Hardware Shopkeeper living at 11 London Road, Newbury with Louisa (surname recorded as Hayell on ancestry).
Albert died aged 76 on either the 2nd or 3rd November 1956** he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 7th November.
