Samuel Elkins

Samuel Elkins

He was born on 26 January 1790 to Samuel and Mary Elkins in Devizes, Wiltshire. His birth is recorded in the Baptist Register, Devizes. He is the brother of John Elkins (1795 – 1873).  In 1851 Census he is a Cordwainer, aged 61 years,  living in West Street with his wife Mary, his daughter Mary (aged 23 – a Governess) and his son Alfred (aged 20 – a Lawyer’s Clerk).  He died aged 66 years on 7 October 1857 in London and his name appears on his wife’s gravestone.
