DEATH OF MR. CHARLES BOYER.— The townspeople were saddened on Saturday morning to hear of the death of Mr. Charles Boyer second son of Mr. George Boyer, of Northbrook-street. The news was so unexpected, as few outside the family circle knew of the Illness, which indeed had lasted but a week, a fatal termination not being anticipated until Saturday morning, when acute inflammation of the bowels ended in death, thus cutting off suddenly a young man approaching the prime of life. The deceased had been connected with several of the institutions of the town, the Guildhall and Conservative Clubs, and at the latter had acted as secretary of the Games Committee, thus doing much to promote sociability and intercourse amongst the members and friends. The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon, and the numerous closed shutters and drawn blinds testified to the general respect entertained for the deceased, and sympathy with the sorrowing parents and relatives. The first part of the service was conducted at the Pariah Church, the Rector officiating, and the choir being present, with Mr. Drury, A.R.C. O. at the organ. The hymns sung were "Thy way not mine, O Lord," and "Thy will be done " • As the coffin was borne out of church the organist played the "Dead March." The interment took place at the Cemetery. The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Boyer, Mr. and Mrs J. Povey (Farnham), Miss Nellie Boyer, Mr. W. Boyer, Miss Ada Boyer, Mr H. B. Boyer. Miss Dorn Boyer , Mr. Leslie B. Boyer, Mr. W. Balding. Those present in church included the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr and Mrs. K Gould), the churchwardens, etc., etc. Among the numerous wreaths were those sent by ….. The funeral was conducted by Mr. Hanington, of Nortlhbrook-street.
