There were three North Cottages presumably owned by the North family as they were left to family members and a brother Thomas, also a plasterer, lived next door to William on the 1881 and 1891 censuses.

William married Sarah Ruth Justice in 1852and they had three children. Margaret who married William Bannister, Sarah Rebecca who married John Henry Stott and William.
