Rosina Eliza Shave
1861-1935
Rosina was born in 1861 in Newbury, the daughter of George Crofts and Rodi/Rhoda Parker (nee Whornam/Wernham) who were married on the 7th August 1859 in Newbury.
In 1871 Rosina (9) was living at 24 Rose and Thistle Yard, Newbury with her father George (39), a Bricklayer, her mother Rhoda (28), her siblings George (11), Jessie (7), Ann (5), Albert (3), Alice (1) and her grandmother Ellen Wernham (74).
In the 1881 census Rosina (19) (recorded as Rosaine E Parkes on Ancestry) was recorded as a General Servant, living at 59 Corbyn Street, Finsbury, London.
She married Paul Shave on the 12th November 1882 at St Nicolas Church Newbury. (Paul was a House Painter/Decorator. He was born in 1854, the son of William and Frances Shave (nee Wright) who were married in Derby in 1852).
Paul and Rosina had the following eight children:

Rhoda 1885 (died aged 20 on the 10th January 1907, buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 14th January)

The 1891, 1901 and 1911 census records record Rosina and the family living in Northcroft Lane, Newbury.
Paul died on the 25th November 1920 in Newbury District Hospital, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 30th November. (With his daughter Rhoda who died in 1907).
Rosina died aged 74 on the 21st August 1935, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th August. (With her husband Paul and her daughter Rhoda).
Probate: SHAVE Rosina Eliza of Cornedo Pound-street Newbury Berkshire widow died 21st August 1935 at the Newbury Infirmary 214 Newtown-road Newbury Administration (with Will) Oxford 13th January 1936 to Maurice Francis Shave hairdresser. Effects: £127 15s 6d
