ROBERT ENIES

Borough Magistrates Office

Elizabeth Ennis, who appeared with a baby in her arms, and was taken into custody on Sunday, was brought up for examination, charged with running after a little boy, named Samuel Hughes, with a pair of scissors in her hand, whereby the boy was so frightened, that he has since been suffering fits. – Mr Bursey, surgeon, stated that Ennis suffered much, at times, from mental excitement, and was not in a fit state to be at large.-The prisoner was remanded, that an arrangement might be made for her safety.

ROBERT ENIES

ASSAULT- Elizabeth Enis was charged with fighting Samuel Hughes; but Mr Bursey, surgeon, having given his opinion that he believed the defendant was not able to take care of herself when in a state of excitement, the bench remanded the case to Friday.

FRIDAY - (Before the Mayor and J Hickson Esq.)

Elizabeth Enis was charged with another assault on Jane Coleman on the 21st July, and fined 11s including costs; but in default of payment was committed to Reading goal for 10 days.
