RICHARD NALDER
SUDDEN DEATH - The uncertainty of life was again verified in this town on Saturday evening last, by the sudden death of Richard Nalder, a tailor, who had previously kept the Greyhound public house for many years. The deceased was in the employ of Mr Foster, tailor and draper, Northbrook-street, and left his work about half-past five o’clock on the above evening. He had proceeded as far as the house lately occupied by Mr Mather, when he was observed by David Langton to rest himself against the shutters, and almost immediately afterwards fell to the ground. Langton instantly ran to his assistance, but he found that the vital spark had fled. Dr Bunny’s assistant also arrived, but his services were of no avail as the deceased had ceased to breathe. The inquest was held on the following Monday morning, at the Mansion house, before J Bunny Esq., borough coroner, when Mr Bunny, surgeon, was examined, who stated that he had attended the deceased for the last month, with disease of the heart, and it was his opinion that he had died of that complaint. The jury therefore returned a verdict that the deceased “Died from natural causes.” |
