SUDDEN DEATH. – A case of awfully sudden death occurred to Mr. Thomas Gammon, baker, aged 64 years, Bartholomew Street, of this town. The deceased had been subjected to a disease of the chest for some time past. He retired to rest as usual on Monday last and in the night has occasion to get out of bed, but he got in again, and had scarcely laid down, when he was a corpse. An inquest was held on the body the following day, before J. Bunny, Esq., coroner, and after hearing the evidence, the jury returned a verdict, “Died by the visitation of God.”

This obituary entry is awaiting verification.
