WILLIAM [SCOTT] SMITH SUDDEN DEATH The death occurred suddenly on Monday, of Mr. William Smith, at his house in Denmark-road. He had been in ill-health for some years, suffering from rheumatic gout, and Dr Wyllie, who had been his medical attendant, was able to certify that death was the result of the degeneration of the heart. The deceased was formerly a coach-painter, and attained to considerable reputation as a harpist, on which instrument he was acknowledged to be a very proficient performer. He was much in demand at servants' dances and other social gatherings. He was a widower, and leaves a grown-up family.
