MARY ANN COOKE
THE LATE MRS. COOKE Our obituary of last week recorded the death of this old inhabitant. At the age of 78, relict of the late Mr. William Cooke, who for so long carried out the business of decorator, etc. at 69 Northbrook-street, and who died in 1889. The funeral took place on Thursday last at the Newbury Cemetery, the Rector, the Rev. L.R. Majendie, officiating.
The chief mourners were her four sons, Mr. W.J. Cooke, Mr. H. J. Cooke, Mr. Walter Cooke and Mr. Charles Cooke, and Mr. J.W. H. Kemp. The coffin was covered with lovely tributes of affection from Will, Gertie and family, Harry, Aggie and the boys, Ret., Mary, Billy and Baby Tracy, Nell and Charlie, Graham and Douglas and Grannie Offer, Emily and George, Maud D. Rennie, Mr. James Bacon, A.E. Davie, Mr. and Mrs. Piper, J. W. H. K. The polished elm coffin was inscribe "Mary Ann Cooke, died August 5th 1912 aged 78 years."
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. George Wintle of Northbrook-street. |
