THE LATE MRS JARRETT
The funeral of the late Mrs. Sarah Jarrett, of St Bartholomew's Almshouses, wife of a well-known old resident of the town (Mr. George Jarrett) took place on Friday last at the Newbury Cemetery. The remains- enclosed in a polished elm coffin with inscribed name-plate,
"Sarah Jarrett,
died April 22nd, 1912,
aged 75 years"
were conveyed in the shellibier to the Cemetery, followed by Mr. and Mrs. E. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. H. Yeo, Mr. and Mrs. H. Parker (daughter and sons in law), Mr. W. Jarrett (son), Mrs. D. Sharp and Mrs. T. Leahy (daughters).
The procession was met by the Rev. F.W. Clarke, B.A., who feelingly read the service in the chapel and at the graveside, which was surrounded by (in addition to the mourning relatives) representatives of the Rechabite Society, of which the deceased was a member, and many other friends. There were no flowers by request. The deceased’s husband was not able to be_present, having been confined to the house for several years. The arrangements were directed by Alfred Jackson and co., Newbury.
