THE FUNERAL of ex P.C. Jones took place on Friday at the Cemetery, the Rector officiating, and ten members of the police force acting as bearers. The coffin plate was inscribed:-"Francis Jones, died Dec. 26, 1909, aged 55 years". Wreaths were sent from his widow, sons and daughters, Mrs. Goddard and family and Mrs. Smith (London) his sister.
Four days after the death of his father, his son Joseph, who was 17 years of age, also passed away, and he was laid to rest by the side of his father.
The arrangements for both funerals were carried out by Mr. Ernest Hart.
