GEOFFREY GARLAND CURWOOD

BLUECOAT SCHOOLBOY'S DEATH

Mr. and Mrs. B.D. Curwood, of Boundary-road, Newbury, will have the sincere sympathy of many friends in the loss they have sustained by the death of their younger son, Geoffrey Garland Curwood, which took place in Christ's Hospital School Infirmary, Horsham, on Monday last. He had been in the infirmary since February 6th and death was due to double pneumonia followed by rheumatic fever. Geoffrey Curwood was a promising scholar. He won a scholarship for Christ's Hospital from the Church of England Boys' School, Newbury in September, 1925, and his elder brother is still at the school. He was thirteen years of age. The body will be conveyed from Horsham to Newbury to-day (Thursday), and the funeral will take place at the Parish Church at 2.15 on Saturday next. The interment will be at the Newtown-road Cemetery.

We are informed that this is the only death of a Newbury boy which has occurred at Christ's Hospital School.
