THE LATE MR. CHARLES RAMPTON
The death took place on November 14th at the residence of his youngest son, 61 Cheap Street. Deceased was a native of Old Alresford, Hants, but came to Newbury with his son, who settled here as a watchmaker, a few years since.
He had suffered long from asthma, but latterly dropsy set in, from which he succumbed.
The funeral took place on November 17th. The interment was at the Cemetery. The body being taken into the St. John’s Church, the Rev. Wickham Legg officiating.
The mourners were the sons Mr. A.C. Rampton (Kingston Hill), Mr. F.W. Rampton (Hailsham), Mr. H.H. Rampton (Newbury), and the daughters, Mrs. Tamlyn (Bedford), and Mrs. Dobson. Wreaths were sent by the widow and family, Alice, Harold, and Winnie, Mrs. E. Cox and sons, Mr. and Mrs. Watts.
The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. T. Plumb.
