The funeral of the late Mr. frederick Canning took place onSaturday afternoon, the first part of the service being conducted at the Congregational Church (deceased being a member of the choir) by the Rev. F.W. Clarke.
The mourners were Mrs.Canning (Mother), Misses Annie and Edith Canning (sisters), Messrs William, James, Henry, Arthur, Alfred, Brice, Albert and Rupert Canning (brothers), Mrs. Henry Canning,Mrs Canning (aunt), Mrs Stroud, Miss Amelia Canning (cousins), Miss K. Wentworth, Mrs. Crossman.
Among those present in the church or at the graveside were Mr. Councillor F.C. Hopson, Mr. e.L. Staples, Mr. J. T. Nash, Mr.H. Cullum, Miss Langford, Miss A. Keep, Mrs. J. Stephens,Mr. C. Langford, Mr. J. Cooke, Messrs F. Rosier, C. Withers, W. Butler and Corps, junior (Equitable Friendly Society), Mr. Corps,sen.

The coffin was of polished elm and inscribed-
