CHARLES ROLFE
WORKMEN’S SUPPER – On Wednesday evening last a supper was given to the workmen employed on Ham Bridge Farm, belonging to Mr. E. Fidler, by the Exclusive Fishing Club, of London. A capital spread was provided by Mr. Baxter, at the Swan Inn. The chair was taken by Mr. C. Rolfe. After supper the usual toasts were honoured, and the Chairman, in proposing the toast of the Exclusive Fishing Club, said they were all much indebted to the gentlemen belonging to the above club for their kindness. Songs, etc., were given during the evening, and at the close a hearty vote of thanks were accorded to Mr. and Mrs. Baxter for the way in which they had entertained them. |
