FANNY COMYNS

THE LATE MRS. COMYNS

 The funeral of Mrs. Comyns, widow of the late Mr. Francis Comyns, who was for many years one of the leading tradesmen of the town, took place on Monday at Newbury Cemetery. Mrs. Comyns had been ailing for a considerable period, and death took place Thursday last. The officiating clergyman was the Rev. R. Wickham Legg, Vicar of St. John's, and the interment took place in the same grave as the husband of the deceased.

 

The coffin was of polished oak. and was fitted with brass furniture, the plate was engraved

Died May 5th, 1904

Aged 75.


  • The mourners were Mr and Mrs Frank Comyns, Messrs.W B and H Comyns, Miss Comyns, Major and Mrs Haldane, Mr J F Haldane, Miss Haldane, Mr A Booth, Mr J Booth, Mrs Mundy, Mrs Piggott, Mrs E Booth, Mr and Mrs HJ Booth, Mr and Mrs A Church, Mr Ernest Church, Miss K Bance, Nurse Freeman.  Floral offerings of sorrow and respect were sent by Major H Clement Haldane, Mrs Haldane and her grandchildren.  In loving memory, Fanny, from an affectionate brother. Sydmnton, from Joshua, from William, Frank and Fanny, Mrs A Mundy, Aunt Sarah. Her sister Mary and girls, Harry, Gertie, E B and J M B., From old friends at St John’s Villa, Miss and Miss E Haldane  L Thatcher, Mr and Mrs Albert Church, Ernest Church, assistants at the Bridge, Mrs Tremellen.  The undertakers were Messrs.Penford and sons.
