Dated 10th April 1902
THE FUNERAL took place yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon of Mr. Charles Botsford of West-fields who died on Friday from cerebral apoplexy caused by a seizure sustained whilst at work painting a shop in Bartholomew-street, which left him practically speechless, though quite conscious. The mourners were the four sons and the six daughters and other relatives. Wreaths were contributed by his children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Botsford, Mrs. Botsford and family (Speenhamland), Henry J. Botsford and Freddy, Mr. and Mrs. Humphries and family, Miss Sherwood, Mr. and Mrs. Bond, Miss Franklin, Louise and Ada. At the cemetery were a large number of the members of the Wesleyan Church, of which for many years deceased was a member. The Rev. J. Crawshaw conducted the service, and the funeral arrangements were carried out by Messrs Penfold and Son.
