WILLIAM HENRY COOK

THE LATE MR. W. H. COOK    The death occurred on Wednesday, the 6th April of Mr. William Henry Cook, only son of the proprietor of the "Derby Arms," after a long and painful illness lasting over two years.  The funeral took place on Monday at the Newtown Road Cemetery, the Rev. T. G. Tylee officiating The mourners were Mr. and Mrs. H Cook (father and mother), Mr. and Mrs. A. Rawlings, Mr. and Mrs. T. Laidler, Mr. and Mrs W. Laidler, Mr. and Mrs. A. Laidler (uncles and aunts); also present at the graveside were Mr. T. Whiting (his late employer). Messrs. B. Wigmore and W. Gore, Mr. and Mrs. T. Punchard, Mr. and Mrs. W. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Wernham, Mr. and Mrs. J. Partridge, Mr. G. Fifield, Mrs. Woodrow, Messrs. Sainsbury, A. Shayler, T. and J. Paice, J. and E. Purton, L. Cleeves. Mr. and Mrs. J. Spencer, Mrs. A. Preston, Miss Smith, Commander and Mrs. Constance, Mrs. B. Rawlings and Miss G. Rawlings, Mrs. Griffen (Wash Common), Mrs. Callow and Mrs. F. Brindley, and others. Floral tributes were sent by Mr. and Mrs. Cook (father and mother); Uncle Bill and Auntie Groves; Uncle Albert and Auntie Ada; Uncle Tom, Aunt Dolly and Eileen: Uncle All and Aunt Emmie (London); Uncle Albert, Aunt Gertie and family; Cousin All and Nora (Dudley); Gladys, Leslie and Winnie (cousins); Mr. and Mrs. T. Whiting and family; the Staff at Mr. Whiting's; Friends at "Derby Arms "; Mr. and Mrs. B. Rawlings: Mr. Fifleld and Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow: Mr. and Mrs. J. Spencer and family; Mr. and Mrs. W. Davis and Tyke; J. and D. Paice, Mr. and Mrs. C. Taylor; Mr. Malcolm Aird (Wootton Hill), Commander and Mrs. Constance; F. H. Plaice; Mr. and. Mrs. Partridge and Mr. and Mrs. Wernham; Mr. and Mrs. Bailey; Mr. and Mrs. H. Tanner; Mr. and Mrs. Flack: F. C. A. Purton; May; Mr. and Mrs. Griffen (Wash Common); Miss Judd (Highclere): The funeral arrangements were carried out by Mr. Hitchman, Newbury.
