  East Pedestal: In Ever Loving Memory Of/ Cecil Henry Bailey/ who passed away/ May 8th. 1923/ aged 31 years. East Plinth: "Until the day break and the shadows flee away." South Pedestal: Also of/ William Bailey/ died Jan. 22nd. 1927/ aged 63 years./ And of/ Maud Rhoda, wife of the above/ died Nov. 18th. 1927 aged 63. North Pedestal: Also of Mabel Ethel/ Bailey/ died Dec. 10th. 1952/ aged 57 years./ No treasure on earth/ can replace her.

THE LATE MR. WILLIAM BAILEY

 

The death occurred on Saturday, January 22nd, of Mr. William Bailey, of Falkland-terrace, Andover-road, in his 68th year. He was gardener for 22 years at “Erleigh,” Andover-road, first for Mrs. and the Misses Wasey, and later for Col. Huddlestone.

 

The interment took place at Newtown-road Cemetery on Thursday afternoon, by the side of his only son Cecil Henry Bailey, who died in May, 1923.

 

The service in St.John the Evangelist was conducted by the Rev. E.H. Stenning. The mourners were the widow, Mrs. C.H. Bailey (daughter-in-law), Mr. H. Rainer (nephew), Mrs.Osgood (sister), Mrs. A.W. Barnicott and Mrs. T. Panter (niece), Mr. and Mrs. Teakle and Mr. and Mrs. Walker. Amongst others present was Colonel Huddlestone.
