Volunteer Funeral at Newbury.
The mortal remains of Mr. T. L. Simmons, whose removal by death in early manhood is deeply deplored, were consigned to their last resting-place in the cemetery yesterday (Friday) afternoon.
The corpse was met at the residence of deceased's mother, in Porchester-villas, by 17 Blue-coat boys and the Rifle Corps, who headed the mournful cortege. The mourners included the mother and sister of deceased, Alderman Hickman, Councillor Adey, and other relatives. The Revs. H. F. Hunt and W. B. Banting conducted the service.
The deceased was educated at Christ's Hospital, and was member of the Newbury Rifle Corps.
