WILLIAM HARFIELD

THE LATE MR. W. HARFIELD

The lengthened illness of Mr. W. Harfield. terminated in his decease on Sunday.

Mr. Harfield was prominently known in this district as Superintendent of police in the Newbury Petty Sessional Division, a post he occupied from the formation of the the Berks Constabulary, until about three months since, when he was superannuated, having previously for some months been laid aside from active life by a painful affliction.

Mr Harfield was thoroughly acquainted with his official duties, and his urbanity rendered him beloved by a wide circle of acquaintances, who will regret the loss to his family occasioned by his removal.

He will be buried tomorrow at Newbury Cemetery.
