FRANK HUGHES

THE LATE MR. FRANK HUGHES

The meeting room of the Plymouth Brethren in Northcroft was filled to its doors yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon for the funeral service for Mr., Frank Hughes, second son of Mr. William Hughes, who died after much suffering in the St. John’s Road Nursing Home on Sunday. He was but 27 years of age and of such a lovable disposition that he made many friends in the town and round-about.

For the last few years he had been farming at Bagnor. He endured his illness with fortitude, and he suffered considerably, first with a long-standing abscess, and then double pneumonia developed.

The mourners were Mrs. Frank Hughes (widow), Mr. and Mrs. W. Hughes, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Hughes (brother and sister-in-law), Mr. Robert Hughes (brother), Miss Elsie Hughes (sister), Miss Hilda Hughes (sister), Mr. Butler (sen.), Miss May Butler (sister-in-law), Mr. J. A. Hughes (uncle), Mr. Percy Butler, Mrs. W.M. Hughes Mr. and Mrs. Porter, Miss Muriel Butler, Mrs. Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Butler, Mr. and Mrs. Phil. Butler, Mrs. Butler (Poole), Mr. George Butler, Mr. Earle, Mr. Alan Hughes, Mr. Herbert Butler.

At both the Meeting House and the Cemetery in Newtown road, there was a large attendance of sympathetic friends and past school comrades. Members prominently associated with the Brethren acted as bearers. The committal service and address was given by Mr. Fox, of Hilliers-Farm, Woodhay.
