Edward was a Farmer in Bayly Hill Farm, Baydon which was given to him by his father Jason, in his lifetime in lieu of an inheritance. The family owned land & the Blacksmith's at Eastbury. Berks. He was first married to Sarah Thatcher with whom he had 4 children. On her death he married Jemima Tubb of Baydon whose family were also farmers. Jemima Withers nee Tubb may be related to Ann King Allcock nee Tubb buried in plot ChNW5. After Edward's marriage to Jemima, they farmed 93 acres at Hill Green Farm, Leckhampstead employing 6 farm labourers. He farmed there until at least the 1861 census and died in !870 when he was living at Mount Villas, off Newtown Rd, Newbury. He left £800 to wife, Jemima. Jemima later was recrded living with son Edward, a Miller in Batheaston, Somerset before his family emigrated to New Zealand. She died in Newbury, family sources believe at Hill Green House, Leckhampstead where Ann King Allcock's (ChNW5) mother Jemima had died 48 years before.
