  From top step of base: "Robert"/ Jesu in mercy brings us/ to that dear land of rest./ Who art with God the father/ and Spirit ever blest./ Where loyal hearts and true/ stand ever in the light./ All rapture through and through/ in God's most holy sight."/ In Loving Remembrance of my brother, Robert Douglas, M.A. (Oxon), Priest, obt. 21st April 1918 aet.69 years. North facing kerbstone./ Also of Georgian Leona Douglas, obt. 26th. March 1926 aet. 76 years./ East facing kerbstone:/ "Grant us each day of life/ to stand by Thee./ With Thee when morning breaks/ ever to be." E.M.
