DEATH OF MR. LEE SMITH
FIFTY YEARS WITH MESSRS. PLENTY
By the passing of Mr. Lee Smith at his home “Haslemere,” 66, Queen's Road, Newbury on Monday, a familiar figure will be missed in the town.
Born at Chieveley in 1859, Lee Smith joined Messrs. E.P. Plenty & Sons Ltd. At an early age and was associated with this firm for more than 50 years, retiring some twelve years ago. Since then he continued to lead an active life, and until a month ago enjoyed a daily cycle ride, having been a pioneer of cycling in his youth.
He married Elizabeth, only daughter of the late Richard Wernham, of North Heath in 1884. In addition to his widow he leaves two sons and three daughters.

This obituary entry is awaiting verification.
