  From top of headstone: In Affectionate Remembrance of/ Benjamin Chamberlain/ (of Wash Road, Newbury)/ who died suddenly Nov. 5th. 1889/ aged 62 years. " So teach us to number our days/ that we may apply our hearts/ unto wisdom."/ Also of Ann Dodd/ widow of the above/ who died Nov. 5th. 1898/ aged 70 years./ "These are they which come out of great tribulation and have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb." South kerbstone: "Watch therefore for ye know neither the day" North kerbstone: "nor the hour wherein the Son of Man cometh."
