  Headstone: In / Loving Memory of / Charles Arthur Ive / who died May 11: 1875 / aged 3 years & 7 months. / " He cometh forth like a flower / and is cut down." / Also of Edith Mary Ive / died April 16: 1888, aged 13 years. "Thy will be done." / Also of Ethel Ive. / died June 2: 1894. Aged 17 years. / Peace perfect peace." //
   
  Engraving deep but last line of MI weathered. Stone upright but crack joined with a metal rod. Close to & facing a yew tree.

    Charles, Edith & Ethel were 3 of 7 children born to Charles Ive of Hampton Wick, Middlesex, & Emma, nee Lines d. of a shepherd of Eydon Northants. The Ives came to Newbury after marrying at St Martin-in-the-Fields, London in 1870 & owned a butcher's shop at 82, then 43, Northbrook St. & 4 acre farm until his retirement & move to Kingston-on-Thames, Surrey by 1891. After Charles Arthur's death, they had another son whom they named Charles Arthur (1875-1950).

ETHEL IVE

THE LATE Miss ETHEIVE

Mr. and Mrs. C Ive of Northbrook-street, have sustained a severe bereavement in the death of their second and only surviving daughter, from consumption.

The funeral of Miss Ethel Ive took place yesterday at the cemetery. A number of school and other friends of the deceased were in attendance, and a large number of floral wreaths were sent by friends both in the town and at a distance.
