MARY IRVING
THE LATE MISS MARY IRVING – Much regret will be felt by the many pupils of the late Miss Irving, on hearing of the death of that lady, which took place at her residence, Cambridge House, on Tuesday morning. A fortnight ago Miss Irving was summoned to London by the illness of an only and attached nephew, who died on the 18th inst. She returned to Newbury on the following Tuesday, evidently out of health, death upon a heart which was chronically weak.
Miss Irving succeeded to Cambridge House School some thirteen years ago. She has been throughout associated with Miss Newell, a relative, who shared with her in the duties of tuition, and will, we believe, continue the school. The funeral is fixed for Friday, at three o’clock, at Cemetery. |
