MRS CAROLINE PARSONS
The Late Mrs. Parsons – Through the death of Mrs. Parsons, widow of the late Mr. Charles Parsons, who at the time of his death was proprietor of the Jack Hotel, Spurgeon’s Orphanage, Muller’s Orphanage and the Newbury Baptist Church will benefit to some considerable extent, he having devised that his property upon the death of his widow, and after payment of certain legacies, should be equally divided between these institutions. The bequest to the Newbury Baptist Church is, we believe, specially to be devoted to work in the villages in which Mrs. Parsons, as a local preacher, took an active part. Mr. Parsons died some eleven years ago. Mrs. Parsons, who has been an invalid passed away on Saturday, and was buried yesterday at the Newbury Cemetery, the officiating minister being the Rev. J. Pate, for though her late husband was a Baptist, she was a member of the Congregational Church.
Also : Her husband, George Charles Parsons, died 8th August/1879 aged 47 years and their only child, Henry P died 24th August 1865 aged 9 years. Her will with a codicil shows her personal estate came to the value £387 12s. 6d.
